MOTHER DIANE AT YOUR SERVICE!
Please let Mother Diane Reeves, one of our assistant priests, know if you know of someone who is homebound or in a nursing facility. She would like to make a pastoral phone call or visit. To help her, please telephone the parish office at 352 372 4721 and leave a message for Mother Diane or email her at office@holytrinitygnv.org.
PROJECT LAZARUS FOOD DRIVE
On Sunday, September 21, 2025 after the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist, our Outreach Committee invites Holy Trinity members to meet in the parish hall to put together bags of food for the hungry of Gainesville, in response to Jesus’ call to feed the hungry. This event caps our yearly Lazarus Project, named for Jesus’ parable in Luke 16:19-31. In it, a rich man ignored the beggar Lazarus who lived on the street outside his house. After death, the rich man went to hell and the beggar went to heaven. The rich man begged for mercy but found none, because he had shown none to Lazarus while alive.
Starting August 31, 2025, please donate food or money to this project. Leave food in the bins in the back of the church. Turn in monetary donations marked for the Lazarus Project at the parish office, for buying food to fill in any gaps in the Project 5000 grocery list from Gainesville Community Ministry (GCM). The bags filled on September 21 will feed families of four for two days. Each bag will include:
Two cans of meat
Two cans of vegetables
Two cans of fruit
Two cans of soup
Two boxes of macaroni and cheese or rice
One box of dry soup mix
One can of baked beans or dried beans
One box of hot cereal
Two boxes UHT “shelf” milk or powdered milk
One can of evaporated milk
One jar of peanut butter
One jar of jelly
