HOME COMMUNION!

Can’t drive yourself to church anymore? Then let us bring church to you! Our parish’s trained Eucharistic Visitors, licensed by our Diocese of Florida, can bring the eucharist — the sacrament that bonds us to Christ Jesus and each other as one body (1 Corinthians 10:16-17) — to you so that you can commune with us at home. Contact Parish Administrator Cathie Whitney at 352 372 4721 or office@holytrinitygnv.org to schedule.

APPLY NOW FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS!

The Holy Trinity Foundation’s Ruth Johns Family Scholarship Endowment funds scholarships for young women and men who are active Holy Trinity Episcopal Church parishioners pursuing undergraduate studies at accredited colleges or universities. (Graduate students are not eligible). Scholarship amounts vary from year to year. Click here for the 2025 application. Applications are due by Monday, June 16, 2025. Mail yours to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Foundation at 100 NE 1st Street, Gainesville FL 32601 or click here to email it to Linda Kunz before that deadline.

PLAN AHEAD FOR CAMP WEED!

It’s not too early to start thinking about 2025 summer camp at Camp Weed, our Diocese of Florida campgrounds. Check out dates, costs, and other details for a summertime of faith, friendship, and fun by clicking here: Summer 2025 at Camp Weed.

FROM OUR EARTH STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY

In sync with National Learn About Composting Day (May 29), spent coffee grounds from the parish hall kitchen are free for the taking to compost or add to garden soil. Look for containers to the right of the double sink on the south wall. Questions? Click here to email Kathleen Pagan.

Our NexTrex plastic bag and film collection continues in the parish hall corridor bins between the kitchen and the library. Thanks to all who have given and are giving. The Gainesville community already collected 3,400 pounds, resulting in two benches made of recycled plastic for two faith communities. (Our parish is fifth on the list.) For a sample snapshot, click here. For a list of acceptable plastics to donate, click here. Questions? Click here to email Kathleen Pagan.

JOIN THE CHOIR!

Interested in singing in our church’s choir? Any singer, ages 16 to 90-plus, is welcome. No audition needed. Rehearsal is most Thursdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m., then again on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. You needn’t know how to read music — but it helps! If you love singing, please consider committing to this key ministry in our parish’s liturgical life. Email musicdept@holytrinitygnv.org for details.

JOIN THE HANDBELL RINGERS!

HTEC’s handbell ringers perform a few times a year at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Eucharist. Bells range from the bass end to little treble bells, with musical styles from traditional hymns to challenging showpieces. You needn’t know how to read music — just be able to count in time. Ringers rehearse 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Thursdays. Email musicdept@holytrinitygnv.org for details.
