CHRISTIAN EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN

Holy Trinity facilitates the process of bringing up children in "the knowledge and love of the Lord", by providing a program that emphasizes fellowship, education, and service.

 A. Sunday, 9:15 AM Education Hour

 INFANTS AND TODDLERS              Room 120

These children will be tenderly cared for so that their parents may attend adult education classes.  Registration forms must be filled out for each child.  Toddlers receive age appropriate lessons from David C. Cook‘s Tiny Feet Taking Big Steps , which emphasizes Jesus' love for them, and incorporates arts and crafts activities.

THE ATRIUM                   Room 119

Three, four and five year olds

The focus for children at this age is in discovering their own relationship with Jesus, their Good Shepherd, and the love He provides. Children gather in #119 then process to the Atrium for Bible stories.   We return for snack, arts and crafts, and play activities.  A modified worship service is provided during the 10:30 service. Children are brought to their parents at the Passing of the Peace.

EPISCOPAL CHILDREN’S CURRICULUM

The First through Sixth grades will begin our eleventh year of the Episcopal Children's Curriculum (ECC). The ECC emphasizes four areas of study: Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures), New Testament, Sacraments, and Church. Each of these areas ties into the seasons of the church year and incorporates Scripture, the Sacraments, the Hymnal, The Book of Common Prayer, and church history and tradition.

First and SECOND GRADES           Room 211

THIRD and FOURTH GRADES                                         Room 210

These classes will focus on the Old Testament: Judges and Kings, the Servants of God; New Testament: People in Parables; Sacraments: Eucharist and People in Communion; and the Church in the Prayer Book.

FIFTH and SIXTH GRADES        Room 201

Fifth and Sixth Graders will focus on the Old Testament: Prophecy; New Testament: Parables of Promise; Sacraments: Eucharist, The Shared Life; and The Catechism.

SOLEMN COMMUNION       Room 115

Solemn Communion classes for second and third graders will begin February 22, 2004.  We no longer refer to this formal instruction as "First" Communion because so many of our children are already receiving.  It is a seven week program that takes place during the Education Hour, 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM and continues with an instructional service in the Children's Chapel.  Each week during the class and in Chapel we will focus our study and meditations on two questions: Who is Jesus?  and What is the Holy Eucharist?  Children must be baptized in order to participate.  Prior registration is necessary because of limited space and there is a $25.00 registration fee.
